§ 150.36. Space and security.

  • (A)

    A dwelling unit shall afford the family adequate space and security.

    (B)

    A living room, kitchen area and bathroom shall be present, and the dwelling unit shall contain at least one sleeping or living/sleeping room of appropriate size for each two persons.

    (C)

    Exterior doors and windows accessible from outside the unit shall be lockable.

    (D)

    Every habitable room shall have at least one window or skylight that can easily be opened, or such other device as will adequately ventilate the room. The total openable window area in every habitable room shall be equal to at least 45 percent of the minimum window area size or minimum skylight-type window size, as required, or shall have other approved equivalent ventilation.

    (E)

    Every bathroom shall comply with the light and ventilation requirements for habitable rooms, except that no window or skylight shall be required in adequately ventilated bathrooms equipped with an approved ventilation system.
