§ 52.15. Private firefighting facilities.

  • (A)

    Application. There is a required application for all private firefighting services in the town and the vicinity of the town.

    (B)

    Installation. Lines and materials installed by the town or its representatives will be installed to the property line or a location mutually agreed upon.

    (C)

    Financial responsibility. The cost of all materials and labor necessary in installing private firefighting facilities will be the responsibility of the property owner and due upon completion of work.

    (D)

    Rates. The rates for private firefighting connections shall be set from time to time by the Board of Commissioners, and a schedule of the rates is on file in the Town Clerk's office.

    (E)

    Conditions. The town reserves the right to meter water consumption when the consumption is for other than firefighting purposes. Water thus consumed will be billed in accordance with the schedule of meter rates. The town reserves the right to estimate water consumed if a firefighting facility is used and bill in accordance with normal rates. The town will supply only such water at any service connection at the pressures and flow rates as may be available from time to time in the operation of the system.
